Class Overview
From K-4 through third grade, students start off with Microsoft Word fundamentals, teaching students the basics of the application. Classes are progressive in style and lessons build upon one another. Once they have mastered the basics, generally this is by fourth grade, students can move onto the skills project which puts their skills to the test, requiring them to start from scratch and fully create a document. Fifth grade students are introduced to Microsoft PowerPoint, where they learn the basics of the application while creating their own presentation.
All lessons, regardless of grade level, are engaging, hands-on and designed to inspire creativity and skill building.
Pre-K4
Children at this young age are fascinated by the computer, yet lack the experience and knowledge to get on and safely maneuver through the system. The need for guidance, education and instruction is essential at this age. What is successfully learned at one stage depends greatly upon what has been learned previously. If inferior skills are acquired it becomes a challenge to develop proficient skills later on. A solid foundation at an early stage is key to future achievements. The following topics are taught in a fun, interactive and stimulating manner.
Keyboarding
Microsoft Word is used on a continual basis to assist in keyboarding and word processing skills. Students become acquainted with the keyboard, learning various key functions and applications.
Mouse Mechanics
